Question 1

so_zanieasked me the following question:

When did you first know that you wanted to be a musician> Like--when did the drive to do music hit you? Or when were you first aware of it?

My Answer:
To start, I think the drive was there well before I ever even knew it. I remember, in hind-sight, always bugging my dad while he was practicing, and picking up the maracas or claves and making a racket (I was around 2 or 3). I bugged a lot of musicians as a kid whenever we were at a party or wedding, and even before I got into band in school, I'd try to sing and play (guitar & bass) along with records (mainly Beatles and other old 50s & 60s 45s) all the time. I remember day-dreaming a lot about being a rock star—I had it bad—and that was all before Jr. high school.

Even my inate laziness didn't keep me from joining school band after the 5th grade, and I never looked back—I knew it was what I wanted to do. It wasn't until I got the hard dose of reality in college that I realized it just wasn't in the cards (being a high-end pro, anyway).

Thankfully, I don't have to be famous, or even a full-time musician to fulfill the musician's need in me. If I were (and I just may) to put another project together, outside of Tourdion, It would be back in Rock...or Jazz—I do miss them a bit, yet.

Great question—thanks, and keep 'em coming folks.
